DataWrapper Refresh automation

I built a cloud-based automation tool that updated over 2,000 Datawrapper charts each week. This replaced a manual process and gave our Updates Editor his Mondays back. I initially developed the tool locally, then migrated it to Google Cloud Platform using Cloud Scheduler to enable full automation. The system ran independently every Monday and contributed to more than $15,000 in annual workflow efficiency gains.


Variability Scoring Tool

I developed an in-house machine learning tool that replicated and enhanced Wordsmith’s variability scoring system to automate editorial QA and support large-scale content optimization. The tool helped editorial teams evaluate article uniqueness without manual review, addressing shifting search engine standards around originality.


Trace dependencies tool

I built this tool to streamline data validation in our “Best Of” editorial workflow, where manual QA was delaying publishing and increasing the risk of errors. Initially developed with Google Apps Script and later migrated to Python and the Google Cloud SDK, the tool aimed to automate dependency mapping between Google Docs and Sheets and insert native comments for direct source linking. By eliminating bottlenecks and improving traceability, this tool accelerates production cycles, enhance data confidence, and lay the groundwork for scalable documentation standards.
